Description: w3r Consulting executives and staff were joined by more than 200 friends, family, community and business leaders, along with elected officials for the grand opening of their new Southfield office in the 1000 Town Center.  w3r is a national leader in technology consulting, with annual revenues over $30 million and is one of the largest minority-owned businesses in the state of Michigan.  In addition to celebrating its 18th year in business, the event was also an opportunity to highlight Black History Month.

Congressman Gary Peters, Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence, State Senator Vincent Gregory, and State Representative Rudy Hobbs lauded the consulting firm, which operates in five states with 300 employees, for its commitment to community and entrepreneurship.  Other dignitaries in attendance included Michigan Black Chamber President Ken Harris, Judge Debra Nance, Southfield City Councilwoman Sylvia Jordan, and representatives from the Southfield Chamber and Detroit Black Chamber of Commerce.

“We are proud, honored, and humbled the by the success of this event,” said Eric Hardy, w3r C.E.O. and Chairman of the Michigan Black Chamber of Commerce.  “We have steadily grown over the last few years, and want to continue to grow in the city of Southfield.  We’re encouraged by the community leaders who came out to support our opening and our birthday, and wish to grow w3r as a national leader,” said Hardy, who also chairs the Community Care Services Board for Henry Ford Health System.

w3r is an award-winning firm that has been recognized at the local and national level for its accomplishments.  The company has been named an Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies for the last five years.  It has been voted one of Metropolitan Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For annually since 2007.  Last year the company was recognized by Crain’s as one of the “Largest Minority Companies” ranked #21 with $25 million USD in sales.  w3r was recognized as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year in 2008 and 2009, and has been recognized multiple times by clients for achievement in its field, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

“The event was overwhelming, and I’m thrilled we were able to celebrate our growth, our company and Black History Month all in one night,” said Keith Echols, w3r Executive Vice President and President of the Southfield Black Chamber of Commerce.  “Standing side by side with family, friends and true leaders in our community was a testament to all business can achieve in the private sector, and all the good business can do in the public sector.  We’re proud to lead the state forward through entrepreneurship and look forward to playing a role in the continuing redevelopment of the region,” said Echols.

“Working with Steward Media for our Ribbon Cutting proved to be a great decision to bring great attention to w3r consulting. Not only did we have a great turnout, we established new relationships that made the event a great success.” Eric Hardy, President & CEO.
